2012-2013 Executive Board Nominations
The Maryland College Personnel Association (MCPA) invites nominations for Executive Board positions. Open positions are listed below. Please consider nominating yourself or others
from across the state of Maryland. Nominations will be accepted from Friday, October 21, 2011 to Wednesday, December 21, 2011. The annual election of the Maryland College Personnel Association’s Executive Board will be held between February 20, 2012 and March 2, 2012. The elections results will be posted shortly thereafter.
To make a nomination, complete the form below.
Elected Board members must:
♦be a member in good standing of MCPA and ACPA.
♦serve a two-year term with the exception of President-Elect (a three-year term– see below).
♦not be a candidate to succeed him/herself in an MCPA office to which he/she has been elected by the membership.
♦take office on June 1, 2012.
♦be in attendance at Board meetings.
♦be in attendance at a minimum of two MCPA events and the annual MCPA conference.
The MCPA is seeking nominations for the positions below. Brief descriptions are listed. Detailed descriptions can be provided at your request.
The positions open for nominations are:
Member-at-Large (3): During their two-year terms, these individuals provide professional development and support services to the Association by coordinating one MCPA event (e.g., programs, professional development, networking, membership activities).
President-Elect: This person will serve as President-Elect in 2012-2013, President in 2013-14, and Past President in 2014-15. As President, this person will preside over all meetings of the organization, provide leadership in association activities, and be the representative of MCPA in all ACPA business.
Secretary: The secretary is responsible for taking minutes at all business meetings and preparing and sending electronic copies to Executive Board members. This position also assists with mailings, phone calls, e-mails, and any other correspondence. In addition, the secretary maintains master copies of the by-laws and job descriptions, which are updated based on Executive Board action. This position is a two-year term.
