MCPA Annual Fall Conference & ACPA East Coast Graduate Fair
We are proud to announce that the 2011 MCPA Fall Conference will be held on Friday, October 21, 2011, from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm at Loyola University Maryland, Columbia Campus. This year's conference will provide higher education professionals and graduate students a wonderful opportunity to discuss and learn from each other while not only showcasing the ACPA East Coast Graduate Fair, but also featuring a specific undergraduate program track!

Registration will open for this conference on Monday, August 8, 2011. Being mindful of limited professional development funds, this year's conference costs will be the same as last year's.

CONFERENCE PROGRAM PROPOSALS
Are you looking for an opportunity to be involved in the professional development of your colleagues? Do you have a new or innovative practice you believe others would benefit from knowing about? Have you just finished your thesis or dissertation and have discovered pertinent findings related to the field? If so, we invite you to submit a conference program proposal for the MCPA Fall Conference. Each year we invite colleagues from around the state to submit program proposals. Program Proposals are no longer being accepted.
2011 RECOGNITION AWARDS
Award Nominations are now closed. Awards winners will be announced at the Conference! Starting Monday, August 8, 2011, you will be able to nominate your friends, colleagues and amazing professionals for several great awards. Award recipients will be announced at this conference. You should also have your colleagues nominate you for one of these awards!
UNDERGRADUATE CASE STUDY CHALLENGE
Undergraduate attendees at this conference have the opportunity to enter the Undergraduate Case Study Challenge. Registration for the Undergraduate Case Study Competition closed on Friday, October 14, 2011.
You must compete in teams of two. Each team must prepare a 5-7 minute response to the case study. The case study will be e-mailed to each team on Friday, October 7, 2011. You will present your oral response to a panel of Student Affairs professionals during the Fall Conference (Participants must be registered for the conference.) You will have access to computer/projector if needed. After your presentation, there will be 3-5 minutes reserved for questions from the panel.
You will be judged on the following criteria:
1. Creativity of your solution(s) (20 pts)
2. Expected effectiveness of your solution(s) (20 pts)
3. The extent to which you have accurately addressed all of the issues present in the case
study (20 pts)
4. The extent to which you have identified the stakeholders and all those affected in the
case (20 pts)
5. Ability to clearly articulate your thoughts and provide a persuasive argument for your
response (10 pts)
6. Evidence of active teamwork between you and your partner (5 pts)
7. Ability to present your case within the 5-7 minute time range (5 pts)
Case Study Winners will receive a $50 gift card each!
